Record-setter Carlos Lee greets baseball fans at Hawkinson Ford

OAK LAWN July 7, 2004 -- All baseball fans young and old are invited to attend this day-long baseball and auto show extravaganza entitled “Catch the Hawkinson Ford Fever – Carlos Lee Event”. The entire event will take place between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, there will be a 2-hour personal appearance by Carlos Lee from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. for signing autographs. Throughout the day, there will be a “Car-B-Q” Celebration with complimentary food and beverages for all guests; and free gifts to the first 100 baseball fans. Hawkinson Ford will showcase their vehicles, all of which will be tagged with their “Best Price” lowest pricing feature.
This event is free, open to the general public and no purchase is necessary. The event will be held at Hawkinson Ford dealership, located at 6100 West 95th Street in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Carlos Lee, age 28, hails from Aguadulce, Panama and made his debut in Major League Baseball in May 1999. Since then, he is regarded as one of the bright young stars of Major League Baseball. During the 2003 season, Carlos established career highs in home runs (31), RBIs (113), stolen bases (18) and doubles (35). He also hit .291 -- his best average since he hit .301 in 2000. Carlos' 113 RBIs were sixth best in the American League, and he led the White Sox in both RBIs and stolen bases Nicknamed “El Caballo”, Lee’s 2004 hit streak broke the franchise record set by Luke Appling in 1936 and tied by Albert Belle in 1997.
