Ford 9N, 2N ,8N Tractors,I would say that the reason I have a Ford 8N tractor because the tractor my grandfather used to farm. Well, This and the fact that Ashland is a Ford tractor dealer. My first was 1950 N, followed by one in 1951 with a Freeman loader, followed by half 1950th Because my child three bays polishing &amp; I has no horses, my theory is that I am a tractor at a distance! Through the years,  I managed to refresh what little mechanical knowledge I had, and add a little more with the wisdom and helpfulness of the many colleagues N owners. So, now it is my turn to share a few of the suggestions I&#8217;ve picked up.<br />
<span id="more-21"></span><br />
<strong>1.</strong> Depressing the clutch at departure reduces starter pull tranny especially when using oil or fat in cold weather.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Front wheel grease seals are rubber and metal from the central to the tenants.</p>
<p><strong>3.</strong> N tractors have a common sump for the rear hydraulic pump and transmission. There are three drain plugs under the tractor and a tank cover behind the gear. Changing the fluid, you should start with removing the pipe plug in and go back to the hydraulic pump and then transmission. Use only Ford 134D MC-90W hydraulic oil or mineral oil. The modern equivalent to 90W mineral oil TSC Traveler brand GL-1 or NAPA part number 65-205.</p>

<p><strong>8 .</strong> It is not necessary to add. Lead. for gas or use hi-test gas. This is a low compression (6.5:1), low hp (23hp) engine with hardened valve seats.</p>
